in my humble opinion, the greatest examples of how not to manage a stud were "On The Road Again" by blue chip and "Cam Fella" by stonegate. yeah yeah yeah, OTRA stood in new york during the dog years is what everyone says. thats no excuse. do you realize that there is no way to breed within north america to a top offspring of OTRA?  luckily. we have seen some of the greatness thru OTRA broodmares (artiscape, four starz shark). watch a replay of the OTRA meadowlands pace. that my friends is a racehorse.
cam fella was almost ruined while at stonegate. to this day, they still think it's 1965. and the owner is a cheap ***. yet, he showed his greatness. animals are like people in that the great ones can overcome any and all obstacles thrown at them.
i also salute all the gamblers who had the decency to lay the -215 on the red sox tonite. what a lock. i do not bet sports but advised some degenerate gambler friends of mine to bet out.

i think alot of the problem with otra was that his offspring got better with age. and alot of owners want a quicker return on investment when spending the big dollar. but, i also believe his daughters have produced well  and are good stock to own if you are into that end of the business. they basically cross well with cam fella line and abercrombie line stallions.
