Author Topic: the evilness of jockeys  (Read 1109 times)

« on: January 11, 2006, 01:36:26 AM »

Sunday we went to Hawthorne to play some Tampa Bay and Fair Grounds. We got to sit behind two grumpy old guys who got grumpier as the day went by. The main motivation to grumpiness seemed to be the jockeys at the tracks they were playing, Aqueduct and Gulfstream, who screwed these guys in every single race.

"Did you see that? What kind of ride was that? Those little bastards got me again!"

"I told you not to bet Luzzi (Bailey, whomever, usually riding a favorite) he gets us every time!"

"Who listens to you, your best bet of the day was a horse that only ran on turf. Those little bastards, they got me again! And these people want you to bet money on horse racing. It's disgusting."

On and on it went. All afternoon.

I could not help but think what evil little men those jockeys are, that even while riding horses in far away places like New York and Miami, that they would so arrange their affairs and their rides to intentionally screw, of all the thousands of bettors watching world wide, these two specfic old guys sitting at Hawthorne. Race after race after race. What did the old guys ever do to them?

I posted awhile back about felling that I was the ONLY person who bet on a particular horse in a race, seems like those two felt the same way. Ah horseplayers, you gotta LOVE UM!

There are alot of bitter old people at the track, you would wonder why they keep coming back - I guess it is either go play the horses or go to McDonalds and find something to yell at the clerk and manager about.

Speaking of evilness of jockeys did you see that Greta Kuntweiller (spelling probably wrong) got busted for running a meth lab down in Ky.
