1:50 will be broke by a trotter sooner or later. Du Quoin being super fast and Donato Hanover makes the World Trotting Derby the best chance it will happen. What do you think?

Never happen. The only thing he will break is STRIDE if he goes fast enough to approach the record. Pork

It is up to Adrian Chip. If Adrian Chip pushes the pace then Donato Hanover wins in 1:50 or better. If Donato cuts out the mile and is left alone to the 3/4 then Donato wins in 1:51 with a big last 1/4.

I am just an old "Hoss" trainer, that has been raced hard and put away wet. As my Friend from Maine(Ora Stratton) says "There are horse trainers, and then there are real "Hoss" trainers.

DuQuoin----super fast surface but also super hot at this time of year. His "time trial" can come in October, at the Red Mile. Saturday? ...............maybe 1:52!! and save the colt.

Pezz said it best, if the over all quality of the field was better, he might have a shot at it.

That's not their plan. Donato's connections have targeted DuQuoin as the place to take their shot at the record, hence the fast qualifier a few days ago to tighten him up.

Adrian Chip has had to eat dirt twice now because of unaggressive drives. This might be the week Bergh decides to cut him loose, and if he does the pace may be fast enough for 1:50 to be broken, weather permitting.

Saw the last race yesterday evening and I THOUGHT they were going fast. Slow last Q but 1:52.4 a new stakes record. Was there when Ronnie Pierce broke the record with Tom Ridge. U really couldn't tell what was going on until the last 1/4; once they hit the final turn. It was kinda fun but didn't sink in til the ride home. It can happen but it all depends on the track and what Norm Hill and the crew do to prepare it. If they spray it right in the morning it can be lightening fast........ rain may damper the speed a little. It can be hot but not TOO muggy. With the kinda cold nights (for the Summer) and a not so humid day you may see it happen: Here's the forecast for Du Quoin...... www.weather.com/weather/weekend/USIL0328?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared

1:50 will not be broken. Certainly not by Donato Hanover. I pick Adrian to win the race flat out. Pierce has talked up many horses before and in most cases his talk did not become reality. It is rare for a driver to talk as cockily and as self assured as he does. He has loads of talent but you'd think he'd learn to zip his lip as a prognosticator(look it up ***) after he has not delivered the goods after making these boastful type comments before.
