The stories are priceless!RTP you'll have to point out the new lunatic at Maywood the next time I come out.It must be that section of Favorites that brings this out in people.First Tony the Neck,the hall of famer of program slappers and now this guy.Horse racing brings out the craziest things in people I must say.I used to be a "slapper" myself!

Good luck to all this weekend,especially you Pezz.

PS Pezz if you go bad gambling I've never had a bad time at Olympic Gardens.

Late 1960's  Scioto Downs;
There was an elderly black couple that most every week end would bring their lawn chairs and sit out front on the apron.
She was a screamer and jumper and would slap her program.
When a horse she bet on crossed the wire a winner she would immediately start beatting on  her husband with the program and yell " GO GET THE MONEY   GO GET THE MONEY".
This soon became contagious and any one with a winner on the apron would find themselves being beat by their friends with a program and told to "GO GET THE MONEY"

Those were the days my friend
we thought they would never end.
We would sing and dance
for ever and a day.

I am just an old "Hoss" trainer, that has been raced hard and put away wet.
As my Friend from Maine(Ora Stratton) says "There are horse trainers, and then there are real "Hoss" trainers.

I'll bet Phil will remember this...  Grin

Back about 30 years ago... when there were separate windows for buyiing and cashing tickets... as soon as a race was over... especially if a favorite had won... there would be a "mad dash" by about 30-40 people to the cashiers window.

You would think these winning ticket holders were worried that the track might run out of money if they didn't get to the window within 12 seconds after the race...  Shocked

Heaven help the poor guy carrying a tray of drinks and food who happened to be in their path to the window...  Grin

This was most prevalent on the third floor of Maywood.
