With Tony taking Gold Dust Beach in the final, the race shapes up quite nicely.  In the words of the late Ish Przybyla,  "Who do you like?".  TC

It should be an interesting Friday night at Maywood. Both John Campbell and Brian Sears will be driving.

Don't expect Campbell to take any catch drives in the overnight races. He normally just drives in the stakes and won't sit behind any horses he doesn't know, unless he happens to accept a drive from a trainer he trusts. At his age, and with the money he's earned , he is not about to risk getting hurt driving some nickel claimer

why not?  Luc O. and David M. did it when they were here for the WCP
I think they (JC & BS) are smart enough to know if they are on a lame horse.

First of all I didn't say anything about Sears. Second, this is how Campbell has operated for years. He just doesn't take catch drives in cheap overnight races for trainers and horses he doesn't know. Third, it's not just the horse he is driving, it's all the other cripples in the race.

Luc and Miller are much younger than Campbell, and haven't suffered all the injuries he has in recent years.

nj

I think John Campbell has as much class as Dave Magee and he is still driving "Nickle" claimers.

I just thought it was an arrogant statement considering half the horses running on Friday could
be or will be running at the BigM when it opens.

You obviously don't know John Campbell, and I do. He doesn't normally take catch drives in overnight races when he comes in to a track to drive in stakes. You can say otherwise all you want, but it doesn't change the facts.

Exclusive interview and pics with Mike Oosting after the WCP will be available online soon.....

wasn`t trying to brag , nj said he talks to the man on a regular basis.

I wish you well on your journalist pursuit as you could be an asset to the industry, if you wouldn`t piss so many people off.
