Last Night:  $463,038
Thursday:   Unavailable
Wednesday:$585,583
Tuesday:    $668,748
Monday:     $809,284
Last Sat    :$751,951

$65572 per race

Two purse cuts. A full Indian Casino less then an hour away at Monticello looming.

Just four promotions being offered
- Mondays in July and August, card members 55+ get a $5 free gaming voucher, 10% off food voucher, 50% valet parking and an undisclosed free gift
- Tuesdays in July and August from 2pm-8pm in their Empire Lounge is a sweepstakes for $50 cahs and a chance for $10,000 sponsored by the lottery
- Last three Wednesdays in July from 2pm-10pm a chance to win a $5000 gas card with all selected getting a free $50 gaming machine voucher
Last three Wednesdays in July from 11am-05pm, three random machines each hour will give out a free $50 gaming machine voucher.

Not a damned give-away anything related to racing. Not a damned ad related to racing except for the banner saying " We race Monday to Saturday at 7:40pm."

Tioga has a competition for drivers and a concert series. Hell even Vernon is giving away $20000 in gas cards in $250 pieces and has something called Hippiefest. Saratoga even has six give-aways of some sort including a car.

Can somebody give Tim Rooney a call and find out just what the hell is going on?

I would have to believe with The BigM closing in a few weeks the handle at Yonkers has an opportunity to increase substantially. Why not try to capture some of that revenue stream? Put something in place to attract horse players and maybe they even play the slots for a while, that's what is truly wanted.  This sport has the worst business model I have ever run across in my life, amazing it has endured this long.

I believe you can get an idea of committment by looking at how their website is kept. Afterall, a website is a great marketing tool used by nearly every successful business today.

Now, how many harness track websites are any good? Big M...what other one?

yonkers' is awful. monticello, I looked at that about a month ago and on the homepage was
a story and picture of a horse that "recently" won....and there was snow in the pic.

racetracks, for the most part, have bad management.
they either have someone who knows horse racing but has no clue about marketing, or they have marketing people who have no clue about racing.

The Vernon and Tioag sites are not aweful. Better then Yonkers but not near the Meadowlands.

I just dont get this lack of cross promotion between a tracks slot facility and their slots. I am guessing its part of the law but why cant all those $5 gaming vouchers be gaming or wagering? Why cant the slot machines that are rigged to give out $50 gaming vouchers also have them apply to betting? Why cant their betting machines and teller machines also do that?

Cant you drag Frank Drucker outside to do something between races where they say have a drawing with losing tickets  where if yours gets picked, you get a dinner for two in the restaurant on a future trip with free valet parking? Geez, the free valet parking alone is a $300 value and you stick two people in the restaurant looking onto the track .

Ive said this several times but Yonkers has been missing the boat
