Rosemont OTB update

IRB sent out an amended agenda:

"The request by Arlington Park for an OTB in Rosemont has been withdrawn,
along with the request by Shoeless Joe's Sportsbar.  Two requests by
Suburban Downs have been added."

I think politics took over here.  The name "Rosemont" sets off warning lights everywhere and maybe the parties involved thought the OTB would be misperceived as some type of opening for a casino.

Another political possibililty is that the good mayor of Rosemont said no to Mr. D based on past negative relations between the two.

And so it goes in Illinois where more jockeying is done in political circles than on the track.

Janine, you mentio that two requests by Suburban Downs were added. Requests for OTBs? If so, where?

They were unrelated to the OTB, just two new items added to the agenda, various approvals.
