A few years back in chicago they wouldn't have let Darcy do that.
A late driver change could only be replaced by a driver of equal status .
Darcy could only put up someone that the stewarts considered equal in driving ability.
As you might guess this caused a lot of arguments as to who was equal to who.
That plan didn't last long.
That is ironic as Darcy P. was going challenge the equal status driver change in court. Now, as i understand it, a trainer can make any driver change up to one hour before post time without penalty Darcy is frequently listed in the program as driver and rarely ends up driving. I haven't followed it close enough to see if there is any pattern to the driver changes. I've wondered why Dave Magee isn't driving for Darcy much lately. Anyhow, if you can make some

good for you. If a trainer isn't sure who is going to drive I'd rather see a TBA listed on the program than a bogus driver listed. As far as why the stewards didn't respond to your questions you may want to phone Balmoral 708-672-1414. Its at least a start and you can post Balmoral response here. If the stewards aren't going to respond take the dam contact the steward feature down. Good Luck.
