The Horses may be going in droves, but the mutual pool at YR is still very small compared to the big M. I wonder how long that will take to change?
I would say there are three things to look for in the coming weeks and months.
The first will be when Mohegan at Poconio opens. They changed their schedule, post time and will offer $100,000 per card. Vernon and Tioga follow shortly after tha, then Chestert. Do Monticello and Yonkers lose horses they have gained? Do Freehold and The Meadowlands lose even more horses and probably dates? Or is it a combination of both?
As The Meadowlands major stakes races draw closer you will see far more of those horses prepping at Yonkers or going in the Yonkers stakes races. Bettors will see the lines and probably takle more notice of Yonkers.
Two days after the Hambletonian, Yonkers will runb a card. It will be their first with The Meadowlands closed. Thats when you could see the most attention drawn to Yonkers
