Janine what's new "ignore" button I see on bottom left of other people's posts? If I push it do I "ignore" just that post or thread, or "ignore" the poster forever? Will it still be good if I should happen to delete my cookies, which I do on a regular basis? In other words, is it then part of my profile? And if I decide I want to unignore Joh ... I mean, somebody, how do I do that?

It ignores the poster.  Not sure about the cookies, it should be in the profile.

Once you have ignored a person, the button changes to unignore.  Use this post to play around and check it out.

Click on profile, then under Modify Profile the last option is Ignore user options

You can add and delete names here as well.

Okay. It works fine if you are a logged in user. If you are just browsing without having logged in, the "ignore" doesn't work. That is understandable, but makes the whole concept fairly useless to me and maybe others, as I always browse the forum to see if there's anything of interest before I bother logging in. I would still see all the posts by any person I wanted to ignore.

Terry:

If you are generally checking from the same computer at home, you can set it so you are always "logged in" so whenever you go to the site, you are are already logged in.

Terry doesn't log on anonymously.  He uses his alter-ego "Off Stride"

John Frank if I wanted to read here so no one knows I'm on I would simply change my profile to "hide online status". Bzzzzt. Another one of your hairball theories down the drain.
