Author Topic: A Christmas Poem  (Read 771 times)

« on: December 19, 2005, 09:56:57 AM »

-- dedicated to the mutual clerks and especially those of New York Racing Association.

Happy Holidays !!

Six Nights Before Christmas

Twas six nights before Christmas,
And throughout New York,
Not a bookie was stirring,
With a spoon or a fork.

“We need a vacation!”
They were heard to declare.
“For one week, at least,
They’ll be out of our hair.”

And the gamblers, they went home.
They followed that star and returned to their stalls
To wait seven days,
Before making their calls.

Happy Hanukkah. Merry Christmas.
Go cry in your beer, but remember,
We are grateful to you,
For what you’ve done here.
