Who says crime doesn't pay?  I just got back from an OTB and I'm told that three weeks after 6 pain-killing positives, Ken Rucker has been chosen as Odds On Racings new trainer and Robin has been dumped.  What does this say for this business?  Juice your horses, get a positive, and attract big money owners.  How sad for Robin who tried very hard to make Dana P. happy.
I started out in defense of Rucker, but the TRO's, the positives, and the gaining of new owners because he's known as a juice guy, are getting a little tough to swallow.  Where's Dan to weigh in on this development.

Just checked the Odds On Racing website and it doesnt say anything on there about ken being there new trainer. Maybe at the Meadowlands that could be. He has Nat Varty in Canada as trainer. I wont believe he is there new trainer until i see it on paper.

Ok I got the info from the horses mouth. Well actually trainers mouth. Remember how i said they may have their meadowlands horses with him. I was right. They left a horse out there with rucker. Harmony Oaks Quest i believe. She bled out there in her last start so instead of having an assitant out there with one horse they are sending her(the assistant) home and leaving the horse with ruck. Wow how things go from all the horses to one horse. Its amazing how rumors are these days.

Robin wins a fair amount, it seems to me. What am I missing?

The real story, which I'd like to hear told, is how, why, and with what, Dana Parham (or whatever his name is) builds an expensive racing operation in a dying market.

I am not saying this rumor is true or not, but I did see Ruck in the grandstand with a huge pink hat on.  It was quite lovely. Grin Grin Grin Grin.  Just kidding.  Ruck would never wear pink.

If its the whole stable or if its one horse, the point is why give your business to a guy with so many positives?  It sends a terrible message.

Ok Harmony Oaks Quest bled out there. You dont have to requalify of lasix just wait 10 days right. So they leave the horse with ruck for him to race him instead of having an assistant trainer out there with one horse.

Bettor,

Just so you know, NJ has to reciprocate any judgement that IL may post on Rucker.  Therefore, if he is nailed there, bye-bye Jersey for him.

is Rucker still racing in IL. ? if so how long do you guys think it will take before he serves his time?
from what I understand about the particular meds that he used is that he'll get a slap on the wrist but stranger things have happened..so Catrina becomes the new trainer for awhile. NJ may break his balls about being at the farm under suspension , which we all know is a no-no. there is enough people there to rat him out if the opporttunity presents itself.

Rucker still has horses in IL, but I haven't seen him there much.  When I was in NJ, I was stabled at the same farm as his horses.  If you actually think he is at the farm, you ARE crazy.  The only time I saw Ruck was at the races.  He has several guys training for him, doing all the shipping, and getting the horses raced.  He rarely steps foot in the paddock.  So, if he does get nailed in IL, after his 30 day stay, I doubt if anyone will see him anywhere.  I believe NJ will recognize a suspension as soon as it is initiated.
