the next "special" 8:00 P.M. post at Maywood...and to think I thought  they rolled out the red carpet out for me on Friday.  I love how the stewards bent over backwards to accomodate Tony and Tubie - LOL.  Once again, the rule book is ignored and uneven justice is meted out.  TC

No huge conspiracy here.  There is a clause in the contract that allows for a catastrophe.  If anyone was up on their toes they would have brought it up sooner and not caused anyone to get scratched.  I don't know if you remember years ago there were 18 horses scratched because of an overturned semi on the tollway.  Well after that it was written in to the contract if anything like that happens again, there will be a 30 minute window for the horsemen. I know there are people pissed off over this but what do they do, scratch everyone late and have four horse fields?? I think the stewards should be on their toes and know these things and then it wouldn't have been such a big deal.

BTW, what was the CATASTROPHE ?...not getting tubed horses to the D-barn on time, thus missing out on potential big scores ?  Who's going to reimburse the handful of horsemen I know in the last year who had horses scratched because they were less than 2 minutes late and had to deal with traffic accidents/ unforeseen delays on their way to Maywood ?  A scratch and a $200 fine is what they got, not a NEW, SPECIAL post time, just for them.  Trotter, I expect more from you on this donnybrook.  TC

They screwed Harmer a few years ago.  I was in the paddock and Harmer was pissed.
Someone else shipped with Harmer that day and had to scratch also.
Different rules for different people.  Good luck next year.

Well the catastrophe was the tollway was down to one lane and it took most people over three hours to get there.  I don't make the rules, I just bend them.  It is in the contract....period.  It doesn't do anyone any good for over 1o to 15 horses get scratched does it?
