Our Dad is not posting at this time. He wanted to let everyone know that he will not be showing up at the airport with a baseball bat. He said he would however be at the airport with some buffet tickets for io and his parents.

Isnt there anything else to do in Vegas beside buffets and casinos? No wonder people think a harness track would be a hit there. LV residents must be bored out of there skulls with buffets and casinos every night.

Yes Dickie, I had lunch at the Stage Deli and dinner at Joe's Stone Crab, both at Caesar's Forum shops on my last visit.  I saw Dennis Miller and a De La Hoya fight.  I went on a ratlesnake hunt in Valley of Fire State Park and I visited Hoover Dam with some friends who live in Las Vegas.  you are 100 % correct as usual - there is nothing but casinos and buffets in Las Vegas.  TC

A rattle snake hunt? How titilating for you! Did you hear you can find rattle snakes all over West for free? Two meals at casino restaurants. A touch of the exotic! Dennis Miller fought a de la Hoya? Will admit thats something you cant see everywhere. Hope miller got his un funny face smashed. Hoover Dam? Anyone who drives the highway can visit that. Thats about the same plain as your relatives visiting Sears Tower when they visit Chicago. Not something residents do on monthly basis. You positively exhausted Vegas.

Seriously. I was adressing the Sisters *** and another *** food post. It is almost all Dan ever talks about. Buffets and comped dinners. Evenings at the racebook with a casino dinner first. Or a big night the hall of fame trainer movie room. After a comped dinner from a casino. If that is life in Entertainment Capital of the World they are welcome to it.

Joe's Stone Crab = delightful.  Never been in Vegas, but the Chicago location has seen me too many times for the good of my belly and wallet.

Filet and Stone Crab combo = some of the best $42.95 you can spend on food. Smiley

Best,

Mr. Breth, we beg to differ. At this moment our Mom and Dad are enjoying themselves sitting in third row seats at the Radio Music Awards at the Aladdin. What did you do tonight in Chicago stay home and watch the WGN news and try to stay warm? Last night I worked a celebrity poker tournament at the Aladdin and met a whole lot of wonderful and interesting people, Paris Hilton and Pat Boone just to mention a couple. This weekend we will be heading up to Mt. Charleston  which is a 30 minute drive for a day of skiing and snow boarding. Mr. Breth, the residents of Vegas have just as many normal things to do here as you do in Chicago and maybe even a little more since this is the City Of Entertainment.

Sisters, don't let Dick Breth upset you. He is very upset that the forum is like a morgue since your father, SN and JD have stopped posting. He has nobody left to mess with. I envy you living in Vegas. Everyone knows that is where the action is. Good luck and tell your father that he, SN and JD are all missed on the forum and to reconsider his decision. Ignore this guy. He has been going at with these guys for months now. Angry He lives in chicago and is miserable since the weather is 15 degrees below zero everyday. Merry Christmas and please pass the word.

It's called being treated properly for the "action" you give to a gaming concern.  It's called doing good business, something Balmoral Park is lacking in greatly.  I'll give Maywood some credit, they know how to try to take care of players.  Balmoral, a.k.a. a la carte Downs, overcharges for everything, yet underpays staff who provide the best service.  In Las Vegas, every gaming concern knows how to treat the steady player.  They appreciate return business.  They've grown and improved their operations; what have the tracks done - next to nothing.  I figure the Gestapo higher-ups stand to earn $12 million this year - and they are crying poor !  Shame, shame, shame.  TC

Did any of you really think Dan wouldn't be returning?

He can't stay away...  Shocked  He lives for this forum...  Grin

How appropriate he decides to "return" to the forum in a thread with "INTERESTED OBSERVER" as the subject...  Grin Grin
