Board experts,

I am new but have enjoyed briefly lurking on this forum.  I've been around Chicago harness racing most of my life (33 yo) as a son of two true broken down harness fans.  I don't really remember the Aurora Downs days, but I have tons of memories of Sportsmans (damn that *** and/or yogurt was good), Maywood, Hawthorne, and Balmoral.  Maybe I'll get into ownership some day if I just have a little more money to burn and can convince the wife.

My favorite horse of all time is Coffee Dan.... My first winning ticket at Maywood.  My favorite driver is and always will be Dave Magee.

Here's my question... My parents toiled for years (decades) at the windows, sometimes in the old days taking the rent money.  One night, in 1994 or 1995 I think, my mom was the single winner of a pick 7 carryover at Sportsman's, cashing something like 120K.  It changed their lives and they have since moved to Wisconsin in semi-retirement.  i don't know the date but it must have been either in September or May because I was at school.  The last race was won by Joe Anderson, can't remember the horse for the life of me, but I bet it is one many of you would recognize.

It would make the absolute coolest Christmas present if I could get a copy of the video from those races.  I'm also not sure if they kept the program.  I would hope so.

Anyway... Help me solve the mystery of what night this was, and if it is possible to obtain the video!  Perhaps it will be a fun board activity.

I hope the sport survives...

Matt

Sorry guys,

Have to change the story... Just remembered the year was probably 94 or 95, not 91 or 92!

Thanks,

Matt
