I'd be for it because I'm from there, but I think it would be just cheap racing with cheap purses similar to a Prairie Meadows.

If dog racing with its tiny purses cant make it in Wisconsin why would harness racing? Why didnt Wisconsin legalize horse racing when it passed parimutuel wagering to begin?

Maybe other people feel like you. The non betting race days at places like Walworth fair get some people in the stands. Sounds like a long shot for success though after dog racing has failed all ready and theres Indian casino on every corner in the state.

We'd ALL LOVE greyhound racing if that's all there was!!!
It'd sure beat the hell out of bingo or the goddamn opera or ballet.

I went to the Delevan track in the early '90s and stood in line behind a bunch of 70+ ladies betting "$2 on slick skinny." etc.  I bet $20 to win on the 1 dog and the odds at that time were 7-1.  Two minutes later the odds were 4-5 and the 1 dog ran box to wire and paid jack shit.  I took my $36 and left, never to return.   I believe it is the only form of gambling that I am ahead in though.  Dog racing really, really sucks.

From what I've been told, it is legal to have a PM track in Wisconsin--it's just a matter of finding someone with the cash to back it.
