BREEDERS’ CUP WEB TRAFFIC DOUBLES IN 2006
Visitors, Traffic Up Significantly on Breeders' Cup/NTRA Web Site
Increased promotion, increased exposure on ESPN and the introduction of Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships streaming video combined to spike traffic and double the number of visitors to
www.Breederscup.com, Breeders' Cup, Ltd. announced today.
Unique visitors to the joint Breeders' Cup/NTRA Web site were up 102% and page views were up 80% on Breeders' Cup Championship day this year compared to in 2005. In addition, visitors and traffic nearly doubled during the two-week period leading up to the event. In all, 422,000 visitors accounted for more than 4.1 million page views at the site.
"Cross promotion on the ESPN platforms, our own promotion and a media campaign on leading sports Web sites drove record traffic to our site," said Greg Avioli, President of Breeders' Cup, Ltd. "We continue to give fans more options for how and when they can consume Breeders' Cup content and, considering this year's record handle, they are responding positively."

The NTRA is a broad-based coalition of horse racing interests, including the American Quarter Horse Association, charged with increasing popularity of horse racing and improving economic conditions for industry participants.
