Don't you people see what they are trying to do? They want to re-issue the license's so they can pave the way for large land based hotel casino's in Chicago. That's means more money for the state and the city. Alot more then the boats can bring in. Why do you think they closed Megs Field? That lakefront is going to look like the strip in Vegas in years to come.

     The bost owners are screwed. The Daley machine is in the works for hotel casino's in the city known for corruption.

Another article from the Sun times this morning paints a slightly different picture:

"a move that could end talk of gambling expansion"

"Madigan also said if the proposal passes the Senate and is signed by Blagojevich, any new attempt to authorize casino gambling should involve auctioning off casino licenses "to ensure maximum benefit to the people of Illinois."

My feeling is who cares where the casinos are. Chicago, Joliet, Elgin, it is all the same to me.
