NYRA AND NTRA TO HOST BREEDERS' CUP FAN FEST OCTOBER 22-23 AT NEW YORK'S ROCKEFELLER CENTER
The New York Racing Association (NYRA), the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), and Breeders' Cup Limited announced today that they will host the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships Fan Fest, presented by I Love NY, Monday and Tuesday, October 22-23 in the lower concourse of 30 Rockefeller Center, 49th and 50th Streets between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, in the heart of midtown Manhattan. The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships Fan Fest is an interactive celebration of Thoroughbred racing and the Breeders' Cup, geared to novices and racing experts, alike. The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships will take place at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., on Saturday, October 27.
Fan Fest attractions will include:
"This year's Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships takes on special meaning for those of us who live and work in the New York metropolitan area," said Terry Meyocks, president and COO of NYRA. "While we continue to recover from the tragic events of September 11, the Fan Fest is one means by which we can provide a diversion for our fans and is yet another example of the resiliency New Yorkers have shown in their determination to move forward with life affirming activities and events."

"These festivities, held in a highly-trafficked tourist destination, will be an exciting start to Breeders' Cup Week and heighten interest in Championship Day on October 27."
