Thoroughbred Corp. donates to New York Heroes Fund

The Thoroughbred Corporation, which will likely have three starters in the 2001 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships at Belmont Park on October 27, has announced it will donate 10% of purse monies earned that day to the NTRA Charities - New York Heroes Fund. In addition, Prince Ahmed bin Salman, whose colors are carried by runners from The Thoroughbred Corporation, has donated to the fund a 2002 season to his dual Classic-winner Point Given, which will be among items auctioned in New York City at the Breeders' Cup Gala on the evening before the Championship day.

Speaking from The Thoroughbred Corporation's Riyadh office, Prince Ahmed added, "Our entire family is greatly distressed by the tragedies of September 11 in the United States. We are honored to join many from the international Thoroughbred community who are supporting this cause."
