InCompassAs one of the entities involved in a restructuring of The Jockey Club family of companies, McKinnie Systems, Inc, the software company that specializes in racing office and horsemen's bookkeeper applications, has been re-named InCompass Solutions, Inc., it was announced today by Alan Marzelli, the chairman of InCompass.

The name change is effective immediately.

The re-named company, InCompass, is a technology solutions company designed to maximize the benefits associated with implementing a centralized-database strategy for the industry.

One of the primary benefits is the establishment of an integrated, industry-wide communications network.

"The name reflects the all-encompassing nature of the services the company will provide to racetracks, racing offices and simulcast outlets throughout the country, and incorporates segments of several words (e.g. information, communications) that are an integral part of the new company," Marzelli said. "The scope of services we are offering will go far beyond the racing office and horsemen's bookkeeper applications traditionally provided by McKinnie Systems."

Marzelli said the InCompass management team will be headed up "by five individuals who have played a vital role in the success of several ventures within The Jockey Club family of companies, including Equibase Company and McKinnie Systems."

They are: David Haydon - President; David Ruffra - Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing; Brad Kimbrell - Vice President, Sales; Sam Shelton - Vice President, Product Development; and James Coil - Vice President, Engineering.

McKinnie Systems was started in the early 1980s by Louisiana Thoroughbred owner Jon McKinnie. The Jockey Club acquired a majority stake in the company in 1994 and the rest of it three years later and then added the racetrack solutions provider TSNS, Inc. in late 1999.

InCompass will be headquartered in The Jockey Club complex at 821 Corporate Drive in Lexington, Ky.

The main phone number is (859) 296-3000; the fax number is (859) 296-3010.
