Jockey Meier Injured in Spill

STICKNEY, IL -- Hawthorne's all-time leading rider, Randall Meier was injured in a spill in the first race at Hawthorne on Monday. During the race, his mount, Demon Like, fell as Meier was attempting to pull up his mount, who was bleeding through Lasix.

Meier sustained a broken right shoulder and was taken to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL for further examination.
