More Wagering Options Added, Challenge Returns, Bourque Five Away
Rolling Pick 3s, New Pick 4s
Beginning on Friday's Hawthorne card, rolling Pick 3s will be added, offering more wagering options for the bettors. The Pick 3 will begin on the first race, and a new Pick 3 will start every race throughout the day, through and including the eighth race and will continue every racing day through the end of the meet.
Also, two Pick 4s will now be offered on Hawthorne's races. Every racing day, a Pick 4 will take place on races 2-5 and another will be offered on the final four races of the day. On nine race cards, the final Pick 4 will run on races 6-9 while ten race cards will have the Pick on races 7-10.
ChiTown Challenge Returns
The popular ChiTown Challenge will be back in full swing on Friday, as both the on-site and online contests return. To win the Challenge, a contestant must pick a single horse to hit the board in its designated race for that day and they continue to the next racing day.
Top prize for the on-site Challenge is 50,000 Club Hawthorne points while the online Challenge will offer $3,000 to the top prize winner.
New Challenges will also begin with the start of the Suburban Downs harness meeting and the Hawthorne fall Thoroughbred meet.
Bourque Five from 3,000
Veteran jockey Curt Bourque sits only five wins away from 3,000 career wins heading into Tuesday's Hawthorne card. Bourque rides seven horses on Tuesday's card.
