BYE BYE NANCY

Tuesday's 'Thoroughbred Today" marks the final appearance of Nancy Ury who, along with co-hosts Jim Miller and Peter Galassi, delighted racing fans the last couple of years on Hawthorne's popular replay shows. Ury is heading to California where she will be employed as assistant stall superintendent at Hollywood Park. Sorry guys.

HANDICAPPING CONTESTS UPDATE

This coming Saturday, Hawthorne will hold the final qualifier for the FREE handicapping contest. Finals will be held next Saturday.

On Sunday, the final qualifier for the $100 Buy-in contest will be held. The finals for this contest will take place the following Sunday.

BIRTHDAYS

Track announcer Peter Galassi and jockey Duane Salvino celebrated birthdays on Tuesday. Ages weren't released but both are definitely "legal."
