LEXINGTON, Ky. - Officials of Breeders' Cup Limited have announced the addition of an interactive stallion nominations system to the company's website,

Coupled with the existing interactive foal nominations system, which has been operational since July, the stallion nominations system effectively rounds-out a menu of online nominations offerings for breeders and owners. The new system allows owners to nominate North American stallions to the Breeders' Cup program by completing a series of user-friendly online forms. The system then communicates to users via e-mail to confirm the accurate registering of each entry.

Also available since July is the nomination verification system, which provides the ability to check a horse's Breeders' Cup nomination status 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"The response to the foal nominations system was terrific, so we're very pleased to offer the same capability for stallions," said Pamela Blatz-Murff, Director of Racing and Nominations for Breeders' Cup Ltd. "We will continue to explore ways to enhance our services to owners and breeders," she said.

The deadline for stallion nominations is December 15, 2000, for the 2001 breeding season. An exception is made for first-time stallions, who have 90 days after the stallion covers its first mare to be nominated to the Breeders' Cup.

Stallion nominations fees are equivalent to that stallion's prevailing stud fee, or $1000, whichever is greater. The first $100 of the fee is due on the December 15 deadline; the remainder is billed in quarterly installments. Fees may be paid by credit card, check or money order.

Integrating databases from both Breeders' Cup and the Jockey Club, the interactive stallion nominations system was constructed and will be maintained by The Jockey Club Information Systems, Inc.
