DELMONICO CAT WINS POSSIBLY PERFECT STAKES ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 4, 2003) -- Mrs. & Martin Wygod's Delmonico Cat rallied from mid pack to win the $45,000 Possibly Perfect Stakes by a half length at Arlington Park on July 4. The Bill Mott-trained son of Storm Cat was ridden by Rene Douglas and covered the about one mile and one sixteenth over firm turf in 1:46.34. The Possibly Perfect was the second straight victory for the 4-year-old filly, who earned $27,834 to boost her bankroll to $139,644 and paid $3.20 and $2.40 as the 3-5 favorite. There was no show wagering offered on the four-horse field. Pacesetter Stormy Society led through a mile in 1:40.64 before giving way later to the eventual winner. She held the place and paid $3.40. Peacefally was third and Attico completed the order of finish.
