ARLINGTON PARK OPEN FOR KENTUCKY DERBY SATURDAY Watch and Wager on the 130th Run for the Roses at the Track or Trackside OTBs WHAT: Arlington Park Open for Kentucky Derby WHEN: Saturday, May 1, 2004 WHERE: First Floor Grandstand - East End (Grandstand Entrance) and Second
Floor DETAILS: Arlington Park will be open with full-card simulcasting from Churchill Downs and racetracks across the country starting with the first race from Churchill at 10 a.m. In addition, all eight Trackside OTB locations in Illinois will offer the same menu of races including the Kentucky Derby. Trackside Arlington Park will be open for early bird wagering at 7 a.m. on Saturday, and all Trackside locations will accept advanced wagering on the Derby starting on Friday, April 30. On Saturday, fans will be able to shop prices and wager on the Derby through either Churchill Downs as Race 10 or a separate Illinois pool as Hawthorne Race Course Race 11. Friday's advance wagering will be into the Illinois pool. Cobey's Food Court on the first floor and Silks Lounge and Deli on the second floor along with concession stands will be open to provide food and beverage. The Arlington Park Gift Shop will offer a wide variety of official Kentucky Derby official merchandise and Mint Juleps, the traditional drink of the Derby, will be available. Shuttle service between Arlington Park and Trackside will be available from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Arlington Park, the Chicago area's premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill., will run a 96-day meet in 2004 from Friday, May 14 through Sunday, Sept. 19. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates eight off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Chicago, Trackside McHenry, Trackside Rockford, Trackside South Beloit, Trackside Waukegan and Longshots featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin.
