Will Direct Marketing and Sales Departments While Leading CRM Initiative at Arlington
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Feb. 12, 2004) -- Arlington Park President Cliff Goodrich announced Thursday that Keith Darby has been promoted to the position of senior director of marketing and sales for the track. He will assume his new role effective Monday, Feb. 16, 2004.
"Keith has been a tremendous asset to Arlington Park's marketing efforts since the track re-opened in 2000," said Goodrich. "Under his guidance, the track has enjoyed great success in its sponsorship and promotional events such as the Miller Lite Party in the Park and Pepsi Family Days, and he has been the driving force in the significant growth of our Twin Spires Club player rewards and Junior Jockey Club children's educational programs.
"During the past month, Keith has worked with departing Vice President of Marketing and Sales Carl Schloessman, who tendered his resignation on Jan. 16 due to his desire to return to California with his family, to ensure a smooth transition" added Goodrich. "While we will miss Carl, we are very fortunate to have Keith who has a proven track record and is extremely well qualified to direct our marketing and sales efforts while leading Arlington Park into the future with the Company's major Customer Relationship Management (CRM) effort."
In his new role, Darby will be an integral member of Arlington Park's senior management team. His responsibilities include oversight of Arlington's marketing, promotions, sponsorships, advertising and sales, and he will work closely with the guest relations department in the implementation of Arlington's CRM initiatives.

At Arlington Park, besides the Party in the Park and Family Day sponsored promotions, Darby secured major sponsorship relationships with American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch and the Illinois Department of Tourism, and developed promotional events including the Fiesta in the Park and Saturday Summer Party.
A graduate of Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., where he was a three-year member of the school's Division I hockey team, Darby is currently a Director for the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Greater Woodfield and Convention Bureau's Tourism Committee.
Darby, his wife Debbie and son Ryan and daughter Catherine currently reside in Lake in the Hills, Ill.
