PEPSIAMERICAS RENEWS SPONSORSHIP AT ARLINGTON PARK
Five-Year Deal Introduces Themed Sunday Activities for Families in 2003
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 10, 2003) -- Arlington Park and PepsiAmericas announced that they have reached an agreement for a five-year sponsorship renewal that will extend from 2003 to 2008 at the Chicago-area racetrack. In addition, it was announced that starting with the current Arlington Park race meet, Pepsi Family Days will include special themed activities for children each Sunday.
"Pepsi has been a fantastic partner with Arlington Park in the past and we look forward to continuing our great relationship with them for many years to come," said Arlington Park Vice President Marketing and Sales Carl Schloessman. "Through our partnership, we have developed a number of innovative marketing programs, such as our themed Pepsi Family Days, that have led to a significant, positive impact on our attendance, as well as generating additional selling opportunities for Pepsi products. When a relationship benefits both parties, it only makes good business sense to continue the partnership in the future"
Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Pepsi continues as the title sponsor of Pepsi Family Days on selected Sundays during the Arlington Park race meet as well as becoming the presenting sponsor of Arlington's Junior Jockey Club for children ages 12 and under. In addition, for the first time, Pepsi will be designated as the official beverage of the Arlington Park jockey colony.
"PepsiAmericas is proud to continue its relationship with the Arlington Park organization," states Keith Melaragno, Vice President of Customer Development for PepsiAmericas. "We have been a partner for many years of this Chicago landmark. The many exciting events that the Park does during the season, particularly Pepsi Family Days, are tremendous opportunities for race fans to enjoy this first class facility at a reduced cost. It is all about entertaining the people of Chicago and we are pleased and proud to continue our partnership with this prestigious venue."
Arlington Park will be featured for four weeks on Diet Pepsi and Pepsi can panels twice and on an on-pack promotional panel with the track's logo and schedule of events during each year of the contract.
Following are the remaining themes for Arlington Park's 2003 Pepsi Family Days (Sundays):
