NORTHWEST COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE TEAMS UP WITH ARLINGTON PARK TO SPONSOR SENIOR HEALTH FAIR PLUS MILLION RUN AND FAMILY FUN WALK
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 2, 2003) -- Arlington Park announced today that Northwest Community Healthcare will become the Official Health Delivery Sponsor of Arlington Park for 2003. As the exclusive sponsor within the Hospital/Medical Center category, Northwest Community Healthcare will be the presenting sponsor for a Senior Health Fair on Saturday, July 26 and will partner with the track for the "Run to the Million" Half Marathon and Family Fun Walk at Arlington Park on Sunday, August 10.
In addition, Northwest Community Healthcare will be on site at the track to disseminate information on health during selected Wednesday Senior Days at Arlington Park. They will also conduct Community Health Walks each month during the Breakfast at Arlington programs slated for Saturday, June 28, Friday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 6.
"Northwest Community Healthcare has partnered on numerous community programs in the past and this new sponsorship solidifies our already great working relationship," said Carl Schloessman, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. "The goals and focus for both of our organizations is very similar. By combining our efforts and developing new marketing programs to effectively and efficiently reach our respective audiences, we will be able to mutually utilize the unique strengths of our respective companies, which makes for a successful partnership."
The Arlington Park Run to the Million is the kickoff event to the International Festival of Racing festivities. Both the half marathon and 5k fun walk will begin at Arlington Trackside on Sunday, August 10. The walk will take place on the Rolling Meadows bike path, while the half marathon will take to the streets of Palatine, Rolling Meadows, and Arlington Heights. Scheduled six weeks prior to the Chicago Marathon, it will serve as an excellent prep race for that national event. Event proceeds will be directed to the cancer services, children's services, and cardiac services departments within Northwest Community Healthcare. More information, as well as online registration, can be found at www.nch.org or by calling the race hotline at 847-618-4272.
"This partnership will truly benefit the community as the August event will cater to both the serious runner and the local family just looking to have some fun," commented Bruce Crowther, president and CEO of Northwest Community Healthcare. "We look forward to working with Arlington Park and offering many community-based events in which people can enjoy themselves and acquire some valuable healthcare information at the same time."
