(847) 385-7535 JOCKEY TRUJILLO ESCAPES INJURY FOLLOWING 3RD RACE MISHAP ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 26, 2002) -- Jockey Elvis Trujillo was treated and released from Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights following an incident after the third race at Arlington Park Friday. "He's okay," said Harry "The Hat" Hacek, Trujillo's agent. "He wanted to keep riding (on Friday's card) but on the advice of the medical team at the track, we took him to the hospital for precautionary X-rays which all came back negative. He'll be out and about in the morning and I expect him to ride tomorrow (Saturday)." Trujillo fell from his mount, Timeless Sweep, as he was returning to the winner's circle after capturing the six-furlong race. - END - |
