(847) 385-7535 JOCKEYS DOYLE AND SIBILLE INVOLVED IN ARLINGTON SPILL ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 24, 2002) -- Jockeys Michael Doyle and Ray Sibille were involved in a spill during the second race at Arlington Park on Wednesday when Doyle's mount, #6 Sardinian Cat, fell in the stretch. After walking to the ambulance, Doyle, an apprentice who recently arrived the United States from Ireland, was taken directly to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill. as a precaution after complaining of pain in his neck. Sibille, whose mount #3 Tomprado fell over Sardinian Cat, returned to the Jockey's room, but took off the rest of his mounts for the day. "I landed on my side," explained Sibille. "I'm okay but I got the wind knocked out of me, so I'll take the rest of the day off and be back tomorrow." Further information on Doyle will be released as it becomes available. - END - |
