(847) 385-7535 LAVIOLETTE OK FOLLOWING 4TH RACE MISHAP ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 7, 2002) -- Jockey Shane Laviolette was treated and released from Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights following an incident in the fourth race at Arlington Park Sunday. "His X-rays all came back negative," said Justin Cassity, Laviolette's agent. "He took a blow to the belly and he's pretty sore, but everything appears to be okay." Laviolette fell from his mount Let's Dance Nance, one of several horses that bumped several strides out of the starting gate in the six-furlong race. Laviolette tried to hold onto the reins but was ultimately tossed to the track where it appeared that he was struck by a trailing horse. - END - |
