ARLINGTON TOPS NATION IN FATHER'S DAY ATTENDANCE FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 16, 2002) -- For the second straight year, Arlington Park had the highest attendance, 24,695, at any racetrack in the country on Father's Day. Monmouth Park in New Jersey was second with 20,262.

"It is gratifying to see Father's Day at Arlington Park become an annual tradition," said Arlington Park President Steve Sexton. "It has turned into one of our biggest days of the year and clearly demonstrates the resurgence of racing in Illinois which we will continue to build on right through the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships in October."

On-track handle on the nine-race card was $1,113,717, while $3,165,468 was wagered on Arlington's live races from all sources.

Arlington Park, the Chicago area's premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill., will run a 107-day meet in 2002 from Wednesday, June 5 to Sunday, Oct. 27.
