Ioya Bigtime named 2012 Illinois Horse of the Year


Ioya Bigtime has been named the state’s 2012 Horse of the Year, champion older handicap male and champion male turf horse. Ioya Bigtime, owned by Team Block, is a homebred son of Dynaformer.

Other divisional awards, which were voted on by members of the state’s racing media and racing secretaries, are as follows:

CHATFIELD ROAD: CHAMPION 2-YEAR-OLD MALE

Breeder and Owner: John Carver

MY OPTION: CHAMPION 2-YEAR-OLD FILLY

Breeder and Owner: Tim Keeley

THE PIZZA MAN: CHAMPION 3-YEAR-OLD COLT OR GELDING

Breeder and Owner: Midwest Thoroughbreds

LEADING ASTRAY: CHAMPION 3-YEAR-OLD FILLY, CHAMPION FEMALE TURF HORSE
