REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER ARLINGTON PARK AND HAWTHORNE RACE COURSE


TO: ALL HORSEMEN

FROM: STATE VETERINARIANS OFFICE
DR. DAWN FOLKER-CALDERON AND DR. JUSTIN HAYNA

THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER ON TO THE RACETRACK GROUNDS.

  1. A Valid (Health Certificate) Certificate of Veterinary Inspection
    • Issued within 5 days prior to entry
    • Including valid rectal temperature
    • Vaccinated for EHV-1 (Rhinopneumonitis) by a licensed veterinarian, with the date of vaccination and product listed on the certificate, that is not more than 60 days and not less than 14 days prior to entry.


  2. Negative coggins within the last 12 months

  3. Illinois Permit to Enter Number on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (Health Certificate), obtained from the Illinois Department of Agriculture. (Out of state horses only.) PHONE NUMBER IS (217) 782-4944.

The Following vaccinations are STRONGLY recommended:

  • West Nile Virus
  • Equine Influenza
  • EVA (Equine Viral Arteritis)
  • Eastern and Western Equine Encephalomyelitis
  • Tetanus Toxoid
