Hawthorne 2013 spring meet starts tomorrow
FEBRUARY 14, 2013 (Chicago) - Live racing returns to Hawthorne tomorrow, February 15! We have fun events, great contests and exciting racing planned for opening weekend and the entire meet. Daily post time will be 1:35 pm; gates open at 11 am and early bird admission, beginning at 8 am, is free. We will race live Friday through Sunday throughout the meet; Wednesday racing will begin on March 6.
Pop Up Bonus Vouchers
Join us at the track or at any of our six OTBs on opening day for Pop-Up Voucher Day. Throughout the day, thousands of dollars in instant prize vouchers will randomly pop out of betting machines when you wager on Hawthorne live races.
Lenten Friday and Weekend Brunch Buffets
A special Lenten Friday buffet will be offered in the Gold Cup room on opening day. The three-hour buffet begins at 12:30 pm.
We will once again have a brunch buffet every Saturday and Sunday this meet. The three-hour brunch buffet also begins at 12:30 pm. This weekend, Saturday's buffet is buy one get one free. Reserve your table now: 708-780-3733.
3X Points in February
We will offer 3X points on all wagers made on Hawthorne races to Club Hawthorne members throughout the month of February. Those members that wager using their Club Hawthorne card every live race day in February (February 15-17 and February 22-24) will have the chance to win 50,000 bonus points, which is valued at $1,000.
Pool Party with Angela Hermann
Meet and greet Hawthorne's new racing analyst, Angela Hermann, at our first Pool Party of the season. The party will be held this Sunday, February 17, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. $20 gets you into the $500 minimum betting pool, lunch and two drink tickets (valid for beer, wine and soda). Everyone is welcome to join the pool, learn some handicapping tips and have fun.

Hawthorne Race Course has been Chicago's "hometown track" for 122 years and currently offers the only traditional dirt racing for Thoroughbreds in northern Illinois. Hawthorne's spring meet opens February 15 and runs through April. Live racing is hosted Friday through Sunday in February and Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in March and April. Daily post time is 1:35 pm, and admission costs $4. The historic track is located a half-mile north of I-55 on Cicero Avenue, and 2 miles south of I-290 on Laramie Avenue at 35th Street.
