JOCKEY JAMES GRAHAM WINS FIVE RACES AT ARLINGTON INTERNATIONAL


ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Aug. 18, 2013) – Jockey James Graham visited the winner’s circle five times Sunday afternoon at Arlington International Racecourse booting home the winners of races three, five, eight and nine, and being moved up to the win in race four.

Graham’s victories on the card were Feel the Thunder Stable and David Breheim’s Nevermesswithruchie ($4) for trainer Mike Stidham in the third race; E. J. Sukley’s Mardochai ($7) for trainer Tom Proctor in the fifth; the Louie J. Roussel III-owned and –trained Let’s Call a Truce ($6) in the eighth; and Ike and Dawn Thrash and Sam Alley’s Istanford ($12.40) for Stidham in the ninth. In addition, he was award the win in race 4 aboard Jeff Zlonis’s Static Charge ($18.40) for conditioner Gary Scherer following the disqualification of original race winner Miss Livingston.

“It was a great day,” said the soft-spoken Irish-born Graham, who won the 2011 Arlington jockey crown.

The five Sunday winners pushed his meet total to 56 and vaulted Graham into first place in the Arlington jockey standings one win to the clear of apprentice jockey Emmanuel Esquivel.

Arlington International Racecourse – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run an 89-day meet in 2013 from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, Sept. 29.
