CHICAGOLAND’S LARGEST KENTUCKY DERBY PARTY ATTRACTS MORE THAN 23,000 TO ARLINGTON INTERNATIONAL RACECOURSE
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 6, 2013) – Chicagoland’s Largest Kentucky Derby Party lived up to its name at Arlington International Racecourse. Saturday’s on-track attendance of 23,186 was the highest attendance since Arlington became host of live racing plus the Derby simulcast in 2006.
Total all-source wagering on Arlington’s 12-race card was $4,557,305 up 138 percent over 2012. Both attendance and wagering were the highest totals in Illinois so far in 2013.
Arlington International Racecourse – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run an 89-day meet in 2013 from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, Sept. 29.
