Pick 6 carryover at Hawthorne

One of the times we needed Mother Nature to come through for us and she did as we only had a small amount of rain overnight which has cleared off for today’s racing action. We are currently listed as fast on the main track and the turf is listed as good with a pair of races on the grass within the Pick 6.

The Pick 6 carries the biggest carryover in the country today as we are at $61,325 in the Pick 6 wager. That being said, I expect between an additional $100,000-$150,000 to be placed on the wager for a very tough sequence.

Today is our Fan Friendly Friday as we have $2 specials on admission and program, along with food and drink specials. This weekend we have our NTRA qualifying contest with a real money format that is open to all players. The racing and weather for the weekend is excellent as players get to keep what they make and hope it’s enough to make it to Vegas next year.

Tomorrow is the return of the Grade III $200,000 Sixty Sails Handicap for older females that has drawn an excellent field. The race will go as the finale on the Saturday card and could be a very key race if the Pick 6 is not hit today.

We do have quite a few changes today as unfortunately the opener completely fell apart. For the most part, the Pick 6 races have held together and should be very tough.
