TRAINER STEVE MANLEY SCORES HIS 1,000TH VICTORY

Steve Manley scored the 1,000th training victory of his career on Wednesday in the ninth race at Hawthorne Race Course with longshot No Bull Jess who was making his second start. Ridden by Chris Emigh, No Bull Jess paid $40.20, $13.60, and $8.60. Hope Steve had a few bucks on him.

Manley started training in 1991 but he had only four starters and no winners that year. His first win came in 1992 when he won with five of 21 starters. His most successful year so far came in 2009 when he had 544 starters, 114 winners, 81 that finished second, 69 that got up for third and his horses earned $1,152,164.

Hawthorne Race Course races Wednesday and Friday through Sunday through April 29. First post daily for the spring is 1:40 pm. Hawthorne Race Course is located in Stickney IL at 3501 S. Laramie Ave. For information on live racing or groups at Hawthorne Race Course, contact Hawthorne at 708-780-3700 or visit Hawthorne online at www.Hawthorneracecourse.com.
