Channel 9 / WGN-TV’s Dina Bair to appear at Balmoral Park for “Paint The Park Pink” THIS Saturday night – October 6

Balmoral Park, one of the nation’s premier harness horse racing facilities located in the Chicago suburb of Crete joins the fight against breast cancer THIS SATURDAY (10/6) as they host the 3rd annual “Paint the Park Pink.”

• MEET WGN-TV’s DINA BAIR

o Cancer survivor and Channel 9 / WGN-TV midday news anchor Dina Bair will be on-hand at the Grandstand entrance handing out bracelets and thanking folks for helping fight this dreadful disease.

• WEAR PINK AND JOIN THE GROUP PHOTO IN THE WINNER’S CIRCLE

o All race fans (men and women) are encouraged to wear pink that evening and join Dina in the Winner’s Circle after the 3rd race for a group photo with the winning horse.

• FREE PINK BRACELETS

o The 1st 500 female patrons receive a FREE pink “Built On Pure Horsepower” bracelet.

• HANG A PINK HORSESHOE

o Fans are encouraged to purchase a pink horseshoe in support or memory of someone who has been affected by breast cancer. Horseshoes are actual horseshoes and will be sold as a pair – one to take home and the other be displayed with a personalized message on the “Paint the Park Pink” boards along the main entrance for the entire month of October.

• DRINKS FIGHT TOO

o Balmoral Park will donate $1 for every pink lemonade or draft beer sold.

“Our goal on October 6 is to pull together a large number of breast cancer fighters, survivors, and the ones that love them to raise money for the fight against this deadly disease and have some fun at the same time,” states Balmoral Park Director of Marketing, Ken Churilla. “We’re thrilled Dina will be here that night as well. As a cancer survivor herself, she knows the importance of efforts like this because she’s not just a TV news anchor & personality; she’s a mother, a wife and a woman just like everyone else who gets pulled into this fight.”

Doors for the evening open at 5:30 pm. The photo in the Winner’s Circle will take place at approximately 7:50 pm.
