ARLINGTON PARK JOCKEYS TO APPEAR AT PARTNERS FOR PROGRESS EVENT ON MONDAY, AUGUST 13
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Aug. 6, 2012) – Several jockeys from the Arlington Park riding colony will lend their time and expertise to “Partners for Progress” on Monday, August 13, from 2 pm until 4 pm at stables located at 23525 West Milton Road in Wauconda, Ill. Among the jockeys expected to attend are Francisco Torres, Miguel Mena, Eduardo Perez, Julio Felix, Inosencio Diego, Seth Martinez, Quincy Hamilton and Alejandro Contreras.
By partnering client, horse, volunteer and community, Partners for Progress offers riding opportunities that challenge disabled individuals to achieve their maximum potential which rewards their efforts in growing physically, mentally and socially. Therapeutic horseback riding in a very powerful tool as normal movement is needed for learning as well as improving physical function.
Arlington Park jockeys will spend the day with the kids in the program. They will spend time with the kids and also participate in the program by helping the kids ride the horses. Horses have helped the program participants grow emotionally, physically, and socially and the chance to engage with professional jockeys will be a great treat and aid in their progress. The jockeys will be dressed in racing silks and will bring goggles, water bottles, and jockey helmets for the participants as well as be available for photographs and autographs.
