JACKPOT HIGH-5 CARRYOVER FOR WEDNESDAY AT $244,514; PICK-9 CARRYOVER FOR WEDNESDAY UP TO $54,510
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 20, 2012) – Big carryovers in both the Jackpot High-5 and the Pick 9 will be up for grabs when the new race week at Arlington Park starts on Wednesday, May 23. Neither bet was hit for the 11th consecutive racing day, resulting in a Jackpot High-5 carryover pool of $244,514 and a Win Pick 9 carryover of $54,510 for Wednesday’s nine-race program.
The Jackpot High-5 is a $1 wager that requires the bettor to select the first five finishers in exact order in the last race of the day. The Jackpot provision means that the entire pool pays out only when there is one and only one winning ticket sold that correctly selects the first five finishers in exact order.
In the event there are multiple tickets sold with the first five finishers in exact order, 50 percent of the daily Jackpot High-5 pool will be distributed to those ticket holders and 50 percent of the daily Jackpot High-5 pool will be carried over to the next scheduled Jackpot High-5 event and added to any existing carryover pool.
The Win Pick 9 is a 10-cent wager that requires the bettor to correctly select the winner in the first nine races of the day.
The takeout on both wagers is just 15 percent.
First post on Wednesday is 1 pm CDT. Post time for the ninth race for the Jackpot High-5 will be at approximately 5:12 pm CDT.
