JACKPOT HIGH-5 CARRYOVER FOR FRIDAY STANDS AT $164,779; PICK-9 CARRYOVER FOR FRIDAY UP TO $31,601

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 16, 2012) – There will be two significant carryover pools to shoot for when racing at Arlington Park resumes on Friday, May 18. The carryover into the Jackpot High 5 has swelled to $164,779 while the Win Pick 9 carryover has risen to $31,650.

The Jackpot High-5 is a $1 wager that requires the bettor to select the first five finishers in exact order in the last race of the day. The Jackpot provision means that the entire pool pays out only when there is one and only one winning ticket sold that correctly selects the first five finishers in exact order.

In the event there are multiple tickets sold with the first five finishers in exact order, 50 percent of the daily Jackpot High-5 pool will be distributed to those ticket holders and 50 percent of the daily Jackpot High-5 pool will be carried over to the next scheduled Jackpot High-5 event and added to any existing carryover pool.

The Win Pick 9 is a 10-cent wager that requires the bettor to correctly select the winner in the first nine races of the day.

The takeout on both wagers is just 15 percent.

First post on Friday is 3 pm CDT. Post time for the day’s ninth race for the Jackpot High-5 will be at approximately 7 pm CDT.

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 90-day meet in 2012 from Friday, May 4 through Sunday, Sept. 30. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates 12 off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities – Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Chicago, Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Waukegan, Tavern on North featuring Trackside Villa Park, Shooters Bar & Grill at Don Carter Lanes featuring Trackside Rockford, Fat Sam’s Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in Lockport, Stanley’s Ale House featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin, Nicolino’s featuring Trackside OTB in McHenry, TADS Sports Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in South Beloit, Salerno-Pincente Ristorante featuring Trackside OTB in Hodgkins and Sam’s Triple Crown featuring Trackside Orland Hills.
