50-cent Pick 4 and 50-Cent Pick 5 Return for Upcoming Season

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 3, 2012) – A Jackpot High-5 and a Pick 9 wager, each with a low 15 percent takeout, and the return of the 50-cent Pick 4 and 50-cent Pick 5 are among the highlights of Arlington Park’s 2012 lineup of wagering options. Plus, with the introduction of FastBet® Mobile wagering service, Arlington guests will be able to wager on live and simulcast races using a mobile device such as a smart phone or tablet.

Conceived and created by United Tote, FastBet® Mobile utilizes Arlington’s local Wi-Fi network, so all wagers made on FastBet® Mobile are processed through the on-track wagering system as if the bets were placed with a mutuel teller or at a self-service terminal.

“Our guests can choose the convenience and privacy of wagering with their personal iPhone, iPad, or Android device,” said Arlington Park General Manager Tony Petrillo. “Our entire staff has been trained in using FastBet® Mobile and are ready to assist guests with every step of the FastBet® Mobile process, from signing up for an account to collecting winnings at the end of a day.”

Guests can access the FastBet® Mobile site throughout the grandstand as well as in the Park and Paddock areas. The service is free and Arlington’s guest services staff will be available to assist guests.”

To sign up for FastBet® Mobile, or to obtain more information on the FastBet® Mobile service, guests can visit the Membership Services Center located on the second level of the grandstand or can pick up easy-to-understand instructions available at locations throughout the facility.

Whether using FastBet® Mobile, wagering though a live mutuel clerk or at a self-service terminal, or from locations all over the country including via, Arlington Park fans will have a myriad of wagering opportunities for 2012 including a new Jackpot High-5 wager and a 10-cent Pick 9.

The Jackpot High-5 is a twist on the Super High-5 in that the entire net pool will only be paid out when there is one and only one winning ticket sold that correctly selects the first five finishers in exact order. If there are multiple tickets sold that correctly select the first five finishers in exact order, then 50 percent of the daily Jackpot High-5 pool will be distributed among those ticket holders and 50 percent of the daily pool will be carried over to the next day. Of course if nobody selects the first five finishers in exact order, the entire daily pool will be carried over to the next day.

The minimum wager on the Jackpot High-5, which will be held on the final race daily, will be $1 and the takeout rate will be 15 percent.

The Pick 9, starting on the first race daily, asks bettors to correctly select the winner in the first nine races. If nobody selects the winner in each of the first nine races, then 90 percent of the daily pool will be carried over to the next day with the remaining 10 percent paid to those ticket holders with the most correct selections. The minimum wager on the Pick 9 will be just 10-cents and the takeout rate will be 15 percent.

The 50-cent Pick 5 with a 15 percent takeout returns for the 2012 season with the only change on that wager being there will be no four-of-five consolation payoff when someone correctly picks the winner in all five Pick 5 races. There will continue to be a consolation in the event there is no ticket sold which designates the five official winners of the Pick 5 races with 10 percent of the net pool distributed to the holders of the tickets that correctly pick the most races correctly, and 90 percent of the net Pick 5 pool carried over to the next day.

Arlington will continue to offer two Pick 4 wagers daily with the Early Pick 4 covering races 2-5 and the Late Pick 4 encompassing the final four races on the card. In the event that no bettor correctly selects all four official winners in either Pick 4 sequence, there will be a carryover to the next racing day’s corresponding Pick 4 pool (early-to-early; late-to-late). will offer free Ultimate Past Performances for the Early Pick 4 each day at and at, as well as offering complete analysis of the entire Arlington Park card in both the live racing program and online at

Every Wednesday during May and June Arlington Park will guarantee the Late Pick 4 pool at $40,000.

This year Arlington Park will offer the Late Pick 4, featuring a 10 percent Winner’s Bonus. On every live race day, all players betting Arlington through have the opportunity to earn a bonus equal to 10 percent of their gross Pick 4 winnings when they hit the Late Pick 4 with their account. For example, if a player hits the Late Pick 4 at Arlington on and it pays $1,000, he or she will receive an additional $100 credit from Bonuses are capped at a maximum of $500 per player, per day.
