FINAL RESULTS $100,000 NHC SUPER QUALIFIER

There were 111 participants in this contest. Just think, it could have been YOU taking this trip in January.

Name Day 1 Day 2 Total Bankroll Prize
1-James Dickson $42.40 $3,928.05 $3970.45 NTRA winner $10,000
2-Name Withheld 0 $2540.64 $2,540.64 NTRA winner $7,500
3-Norman Stroz $1,800.80 $231.85 $2032.65 Prize money* $5,000
4-John Ferroli $806.10 $749.15 $1,555.25 NTRA winner $3,000
5-Tom Underdahl $1,182.20 $340.00 $1522.20 NTRA winner $2,000
6-Jason Lane $1,280.00 $227.50 $1,507.50 NTRA winner $1,000
7-David Gutfreund $0 $1,419.00 $1,419.00 NTRA winner $500
8-Matt Mathey $700.50 $542.00 $1,242.50 NTRA winner $500
9-Michael Rusovick $0 $1,222.25 $1,222.25 NTRA winner $500
10-Roger Jones $22.45 $1,193.60 $1,216.05 NTRA winner $500
11-Paul Hoffman $1215.50 $0 $1,215.50 NTRA winner **

*Third-place finisher Norman Stroz played for prize money only

** Eleventh-place finisher Paul Hoffman was awarded the trip to Las Vegas with the entry into the DRF/NTRA NHC Championship since Norman Stroz could not attend. However, because Hoffman didn't finish in the top 10, he did not earn any prize money, though with the trip to Vegas and the chance to win the "big bucks" he probably doesn't care.

As typical for many contests of this nature, participants seemed to earn the majority of their winnings on one day or the other. Thirteenth-place finisher Ken Kieras was an unusual exception. He earned exactly $500 on each day. And wound up with a grand total of $1,000 for the contest, $215.50 away from earning a prize.

In addition, Norm Stroz won $2500 for finishing Saturday with the top ROI (return on investment). James Dixon won $2500 for finishing with the top ROI for Sunday.

COME ON IN, THE WATER IS FINE…

We have two more Pool Parties scheduled for the meet and no, you won't be getting wet. Plus, the world isn't ready for you, or me, in a Speedo.

Saturday, December 3, Joe Kristufek from Horseplayer Now will host this party. For a mere $20 you get a two-hour buffet along with draft beer. Plus, you share in a minimum $500 betting pool (at no additional cost to you), trying to knock down any big carryovers as well as a bevy of other bets from Hawthorne's own race card.

Next Saturday ESPN 1000's own Harry Teinowitz will be the featured host with the same benefits.

Join us, have some fun, talk racing, and hopefully go home with pockets full of cash.

Hawthorne Race Course opens for live racing on Saturday, October 1 and races live through Saturday December 31. Live racing will be conducted five days a week, racing Wednesday-Sunday. Live racing will also take place on Monday, December 26. First post daily is 1:35 pm. Hawthorne Race Course is located in Stickney IL at 3501 S. Laramie Ave. For information on live racing or groups at Hawthorne Race Course, contact Hawthorne at 708-780-3700 or visit Hawthorne online at www.Hawthorneracecourse.com.
