TRACKSIDE OFF-TRACK BETTING CONTEST ON WOODBINE’S CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL CARD SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Oct. 4, 2011) – Arlington Park will offer a live money handicapping contest at all Illinois Trackside Off-Track Betting locations with a top prize of $500. The contest will center on the Pattison Canadian International card at Woodbine Race Course on Sunday, Oct. 16. The program will feature three Grade I races with purses in excess of $3 million.

All players need to do to participate is purchase a $50 contest wagering card at the Twin Spires Club Center at each location on the day of the contest and play a minimum of five races from that day’s card at Woodbine. Each player must be a Twin Spires Club member to participate. Twin Spires Club membership is free and guests may join at the Twin Spires Club Center at Arlington Park or any Trackside Off-Track Wagering location.

Each contest will be organic to a typical day at the track, meaning that players will have the flexibility to wager in more pools (Win, Place, Show, Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta, and multi-race wagers such as the Pick 3 and Pick 4) than in most other contests and have freedom to participate from any location within any Illinois Trackside Off Track Betting facility as there is no need for assigned contest wagering windows. However, all wagers must be made using the contest card at self service terminals only. Contestants may invest winnings from contest races into future contest wagers. For complete contest rules, visit Arlington Park’s Web site at www.arlingtonpark.com.

In order to allow more people to participate in this contest, it will be held simultaneously at all of Arlington Park’s 11 Trackside Off-Track Betting facilities. The overall winner will receive a prize of $500 (paid in TSC points). The top five players will earn cash prizes. In addition the top six players will also win a 32” flat panel LCD television set.

Participating Illinois Trackside facilities are: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Chicago, Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Waukegan, Shooters Bar & Grill at Don Carter Lanes featuring Trackside Rockford, Fat Sam’s Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in Lockport, Stanley’s Ale House featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin, Nicolino’s featuring Trackside OTB in McHenry, TADS Sports Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in South Beloit, Salerno-Pincente Ristorante featuring Trackside OTB in Hodgkins and Salerno-Pincente Ristorante featuring Trackside OTB in Villa Park.

This contest is not part of the Trackside Fall handicapping contest series to be held at selected Illinois Trackside locations beginning the following Saturday, October 22. Details for that series will be announced shortly.
