MR D’S SPORTS BAR AND GRILL AT ARLINGTON PARK TO REMAIN OPEN FRIDAY, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS DURING OFF-SEASON


ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Sept. 11, 2011) – Mr. D’s Sports Bar and Grill, a popular destination at Arlington Park during the live meet, will remain open during the off-season on Friday evenings plus Saturday and Sunday afternoons for fans to watch professional and college football as well as watch and wager on top racing from around the country.

Beginning Sept. 30, Mr. D’s will be open each Friday evening from 4 pm until 11 pm with food and drink specials including $1 sliders from 5:30 until 7:30 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, Mr. D’s will open at 10 am and feature $3 Mimosas and $5 Bloody Marys, as well as biscuits and gravy and wings specials from 10 am until Noon. Mr. D’s will remain open each Saturday and Sunday until 7 pm and offer free admission and feature $2 domestic draft beer specials all weekend. Guests should enter the Arlington Park grounds via the Gate 1 Wilke Road entrance and enter the facility through the Grandstand (east) entrance.

Fans will be able to keep up with all the sports and racing action on numerous large screen HD television monitors. There will self-service betting machines available for wagering on races from Hawthorne Race Course as well as other top tracks from around the country as horses prepare for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships to be run at Churchill Downs Nov. 4-5.

Fans are encouraged to visit arlingtonpark.com for special announcements regarding upcoming promotions at Mr. D’s including a schedule of live entertainment including karaoke, live music and trivia contests on Friday evenings from 8 pm.

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run an 86-day meet in 2011 from Friday, May 6 through Sunday, Sept. 25.
