WGN AND WGN AMERICA TO BROADCAST ARLINGTON MILLION

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (August 3, 2011) – One of Chicago’s great entertainment and sports events of the year will be broadcast to Chicagoland and nationwide thanks to a partnership between Arlington Park and WGN Television.

The 29th running of the Arlington Million will be carried live in HD on WGN-TV Channel 9 in Chicago and nationwide on WGN America on Aug. 13, 2011 from 5:00-5:30 pm CDT. The program will be rebroadcast locally on CLTV from 8:00-8:30 pm CDT.

The broadcast will be hosted by WGN’s Dan Roan, and longtime Chicago sportscaster Arlington Park’s Howard Sudberry. The inclusion of WGN America will make this show available in more than 27 million households worldwide.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring our premier racing event to viewers in Chicago and nationwide on WGN through a partnership between two great Chicagoland companies,” said Arlington Park General Manager Tony Petrillo. “WGN is known for its first-class productions and we are proud to be associated with a brand that stands for such quality.”

“The Arlington Million is one of Chicago’s Very Own signature events of the summer,” said WGN Vice President/General Manager Marty Wilke. “We’re pleased to be able to showcase this great event from Arlington Park on WGN.”
